The Falling Leaf Festival

FESTIVAL OF A FALLING LEAF
is a one-day mini-festival aimed at showing the inhabitants of Lodz the colorful face of autumn by jointly using the cultural and historical potential of Skrzywana Park and its surroundings.
It will consist in co-creating space with the residents of the Górna district, who with their presence and contribution will revive the so far neglected and forgotten area of Łódź.
A lighting installation will be installed in the park, which will enliven the space of the November Skrzywana Park after dark.
We plan to build a leisure infrastructure from post-industrial “waste”. The cable spools will turn into tables, and we’ll turn pallets into seats.
ᴘʀᴏɢʀᴀᴍme:
* ʟɪsᴛʏ ɴᴀ ʟɪśᴄɪᴀᴄʜ (Letters on leaves) – intergenerational workshops on writing letters, texts or poems on dried leaves collected in the park. Skrzywana (hosted by Karolina Karolak and Ada Słowikowska).
* ᴡɪᴇᴄᴢɴʏ ʟɪśᴄ́ (Leafternal) – artistic action consisting in sinking selected “Letters on leaves” in resin and creating an artistic installation in the park space
(hosted by Karolina Karolak);
* ᴅᴢɪᴋᴀ ᴋᴜᴄʜɴɪᴀ ʀᴏśʟɪɴɴᴀ: ʟɪśᴄɪᴇ, ᴋᴏʀᴢᴇɴɪᴇ, ᴌᴏᴅʏɢɪ (wild plant cuisine: leaves roots stems) – intergenerational culinary workshop on the use of wild edible plants (led by Adrian Gałązka);
* ᴋᴏɴᴄᴇʀᴛ ᴍᴜᴢʏᴋɪ ɪᴍᴘʀᴏᴡɪᴢᴏᴡᴀɴᴇᴊ (improvised music concert) performed by: Ada Słowikowska;
* ᴅʏɴɪᴏ-ᴘʟᴀsᴛʏᴋᴀ – pumpkin decoration activities for children. Pumpkin flesh will be used in culinary workshops (led by Sonia Szechowska);
* ᴊᴇsɪᴇɴɴʏ ᴘɪᴋɴɪᴋ – food truck point, hot drinks, food, setting of heating (gas) umbrellas.
The “Urban microgrants” task is implemented thanks to co-financing from the Budget of the City of Łódź.
